Ontario District Flag Day Ceremony

Saturday—June 14, 2008 6 P.M.

 

At the Onondaga County War Memorial Reception following at Syracuse Lodge #31.

 

This ceremony honors and celebrates the American Flag, a cornerstone of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. A presentation and history of all of the flags that have been flown in Our Country's name will be displayed and explained. There will be a local choral group to perform throughout and a local student will also be on hand to recite his NYS 1st place winning essay entitled 'What is an American'.
 

     In attendance will be the newly elected New York State Elks Association President, Jay Amodeo from Rensselaer Lodge #2073. Also in attendance and expected to address the crowd will be the Honorable James Walsh, County Executive Joannie Mahoney and possibly Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll.
